FLEXSPEED celebrates its 10 year anniversary

10 years fly by so fast! Our highest-capacity LPG filling system has been spitting out filled cylinders since 2008. In that time, a lot has happened, and today there are FLEXSPEED systems in operation all over the world. 

The first FLEXSPEED saw the light of day at the 2008 AEGPL exhibition in Milan, Italy, in front of hundreds of our peers from the LPG industry.  It quickly took the world by storm, setting new standards for what LPG filling systems can achieve in terms of capacity. 

FLEXSPEED more than tripled the standard maximum capacity for LPG filling carrousels. Prior to FLEXSPEED, it was widely accepted that approx. 1,200 cylinders per hour was the highest figure possible for filling systems on the market. Suddenly, FLEXSPEED made it possible to fill over 4000 cylinders per hour on a single filling carrousel. 

Not everyone knows this, but FLEXSPEED was actually inspired by the beverage industry, which you can read more about here. Like bottles on beverage filling systems, cylinders on a FLEXSPEED never stand still from the moment they enter to the moment they exit. They are weighed at several points in between to ensure excellent filling accuracy.  

In the grand scope of things, 10 years may not be a long time, but FLEXSPEED has still managed to shift the perception of what defines high-capacity LPG filling in that time. We are proud of that fact, and we aim to continue to be at the forefront of innovation in the future!

NOTE: To calculate the numbers stated in the bottom of the infographic, we have assumed an average operational time of 8 hours per day for each FLEXSPEED carrousel. Depending on the plant, the numbers can be even higher!
