Celebrating 10,000 man-hours of safety and excellence

Arnaud Lobry of MAKEEN Energy speaks at the HSE Day event

Working on PETRONAS' Melaka terminal, Kosan Crisplant's team in Malaysia has received recognition of their excellence in safety and teamwork.

The Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Day was held on 19 September 2019 at PETRONAS Dagangan Bhd. Melaka Terminal. The purpose of this HSE day was to celebrate that our project to refurbish and upgrade Petronas' terminal at Melaka, Malaysia, had reached a noteworthy milestone: 10,000 man-hours with NO lost time injury (LTI).

This means that over 10,000 man-hours of the project, there were no accidents that kept the employees away from work, caused disabilities or resulted in negative conditions for the workers.

At the event, our workers received four awards based on their performance and contribution to the project:

  • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Compliance
  • Time Keeper (Punctuality)
  • Power of One (Leadership)
  • Lead Helping Hand (Teamwork)

KC Malaysia also received a focused recognition award from PDB for demonstrating good teamwork with the project team as well as the terminal team.

Raising pollution awareness

The event also emphasized haze awareness among workers. 150 N95 respirators, sponsored by MF Technik, were distributed.  Posters on the effect of open burning were displayed and brochures on haze were given to PDB staff and workers.
